The age of the person in the picture doesn’t matter.
The end result is the same when it comes to the consumption of High Fructose Corn Syrup.
If you are looking to reduce your waist size, you will be doing yourself a huge favor by eliminating HFCS from your diet.
There is significant evidence that it not only contributes to weight gain, but is also responsible for a host of other negative health issues. This becomes somewhat important at our age. You want to be doing everything possible to avoid sickness. Not encouraging it.
If you have not heard of or are aware of HFCS, I suggest you read the link that I have added near the bottom of this post. HFCS is commonly used in place of sugar in most processed foods. In fact, one study indicated that the average American eats an astounding 41.5 lbs of HFCS per year.
Other studies have shown that the body processes the sugar in HFCS differently than it does with natural forms of sugar. This alters your body’s natural ability to regulate appetite. Therefore, you eat more. Eat more junk food and you pretty much know what happens.
HFCS sugar is quickly absorbed by the liver where it is converted into fat.
Since your brain doesn’t recognize HFCS as regular food, it never shuts off the appetite center — so you keep eating more food. Blood sugar levels rise, massive amounts of insulin is recruited to metabolize it and then you crash and feel hungry again. Hence you eat more again.
For me , this often turns out to be a problem when I am feeling stressed out. I have a habit of turning to “comfort food” while stressing out. It’s a bad habit and I know it. All this comfort food has HFCS and within a matter of days I gain a pound or two or three. It happens so fast it isn’t funny. Then I have to slap myself and lose that weight again. It is not a good habit to get into.
There are suggestions that HFCS can also be responsible for enlarging the liver. Not a good thing!
Watch the video to learn more about HFCS. The video was made in 2008 so disregard the first few seconds. The rest however, is packed full of great information.
The following link will take you to an excellent article about the dangers of HFCS. It does a much better job than I ever could.
HFCS is found in soft drinks, fruit juices, salad dressings, baked goods and many other processed foods. By the way, there is a difference as to how your body treats natural sugar as compared to artificial sources of sugar.
To reduce the amount of food that you consume with high levels of HFCS, throw out foods in your kitchen that have HFCS listed as one of the 1st five ingredients. Then don’t buy foods in the grocery store that has HFCS listed as one of the 1st five ingredients either.

What you eat is 80% responsible for how you look, the shape you are in and how feel. So by just reducing the amount of HFCS that you take in will go a long way to reducing your waistline and your feeling better.
I always feel better when I eat healthy and cut out the garbage. It too bad I have such a hard time controlling my sweat tooth. I am convinced that if I cut out the HFCS and the other crap, I would drop another 5 pounds virtually over night.
