After months of saying “We should try that”, we finally did.
Our gym has a room dedicated to spinning classes. It has about 20 bikes and the classes are always booked solid.
In fact the spinning classes are so popular you have to book the class the day before. Both the guys and the girls seem to love these classes. I now know why.
I have known that these classes provide a great work-out. I just didn’t realize how great these classes really were. Both Rhonda and I loved it. Our class today went for 45 minutes. After the class, we went and worked on our upper bodies using free weights. We plan on going again later this week and doing it all over again.
One of the advantages of the classes is that an instructor runs them. So there is someone there to make sure you are doing it properly and working at an effective pace to get your heart in the aerobic zone. That means you are getting the proper cardio work-out. Which after all is what you want.

As a side note, one of the nice things about the spinning class is that you get to meet other people. Because we went in the morning, there were more people our age than there usually is in the evening. So not only do you get to exercise but it becomes a bit of a social club. That’s great.
Just a few tips before you go to your spin class. Wear something light and cool. Also bring some water.You are going to sweat your ass off.
